On May 12, the AmCham Women Network held its second mentorship and career guidance session with a group of senior students from Collège Les Oliviers.

More than a dozen students participated in a candid and inspiring discussion about their professional aspirations, educational goals, personal challenges, and concerns about the future. Many expressed interest in pursuing higher education opportunities abroad, particularly in Europe, Canada, and the United States. While excited by these possibilities, students also shared concerns about leaving their families and adapting to new environments.

The session provided valuable insights into the aspirations and challenges facing Haiti’s youth today. Discussions highlighted the importance of self-confidence, communication skills, mentorship, leadership development, and exposure to professional opportunities. The conversation also underscored the need to create more spaces where young people can engage openly with professionals and gain guidance as they prepare for their future careers.

Through initiatives like these, the AmCham Women Network continues its commitment to investing in Haiti’s next generation of leaders by encouraging personal growth, broadening perspectives, and helping young people build the confidence needed to pursue their ambitions.

AmCham Haiti firmly believes that empowering young people today is essential to building a stronger and more prosperous Haiti tomorrow.
