Mrs. Andress Appolon, a member of the Board of Directors of AmCham Haiti, represented our organization during the public consultation centered around the new 2030 institutional strategy of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) with the private sector. This session, moderated by Mr. Kesner Pharel, aimed to gather feedback on how the IDB could enhance its effectiveness. While the consultation is intended to define a comprehensive strategy for the region, Haiti’s unique context, different from our neighbors, makes this discussion complex. Our needs, given Haiti’s distinct situation, don’t always align with a “universal” vision. Nonetheless, it’s noteworthy that this is just the first phase of the consultations. A subsequent session is scheduled for March/April 2024, with the objective of presenting the final plan.
