AACCLA Annual Conference – Washington DC, October 2012

Amcham Haiti participated at the annual conference with the other Amchams from Latin American and the US Chamber of Commerce. The 1st day of the event was the conference forecasting economic growth in the region. The biggest headline of the event is the strong growth posted by Mexico over the past couple of years and economists from the region along with the IMF and the Worldbank expect Mexico to surpass Brazil as the economic power o fthe region over the next 10 years. The keynote speaker for the luncheon was the President of the Worldbank, Dr Jim Yong Kim spoke about the importance of the Private Sector for wealth and job creation.

The 2nd day of the event, AACCLA held its General Assembly where Board Members of Amchams and CEOs or Executive Directors to discuss issues facing the region.

On the 3rd day, only the CEOs met with AACCLA on operational issues, how to increase revenue and provide more services for our Members. Our next AACCLA meeting will be in Miami in February 2013.
