Andy Rene, new Executive Director at CFI

Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe names Andy Rene as its new Executive Director on August 22, 2012. Mr. Rene replaces Karl Jean Louis who was at the helm of the CFI for the past 6 months. The CFI has gone through significant changes with a new office space, additional staff, a new website and several events that it organized in Haiti and in the US.
Many issues still remain as far as facilitating the process for investments in Haiti, and Prime Minister Lamothe has elected to change the leadership of the CFI.

Mr. Rene has indicated that will focus on key areas to improve the business environment:
– Strengthening ties with the board to enable it to fulfill its responsibilities in terms of orientation;
– Hold meetings of the Advisory Board to enable it to fulfill its advocacy role
– Strengthening the CFI function studies to be able to establish a documentary for better domestic, regional and international understanding
– Improving means of communication for disclosure, both national and international business opportunities that exist throughout the territory.
