On February 19, 2026, AmCham Haiti, represented by its Treasurer, Mr. Frederic Vaval, and Executive Director, Ms. Erika Rosenthal, held an exploratory meeting with the Banque de la République d’Haïti (BRH) to explore avenues for collaboration and increase dialogue between the private sector and the Central Bank.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the BRH’s key priorities, including monetary policy analysis, economic research, and the production of strategic publications. Discussions covered the Bank’s recurring reports  such as : monetary policy notes, annual reports, and financial inclusion studies, as well as targeted analyses addressing specific economic challenges.

Particular attention was given to analytical work related to financial mandates and the impact of insecurity on Haiti’s financial system, highlighting the importance of data-driven decision-making in navigating a complex economic environment.

Strengthening public–private cooperation

During the discussions, M. Vaval  reaffirmed the importance of closer collaboration between the private sector and the Central Bank in order to support informed investment decisions and improve understanding of national economic trends.

This effort aligns with AmCham Haiti’s “AmCham by Numbers” initiative, designed to promote greater economic literacy and facilitate access to reliable data and analysis for the business community.

The BRH expressed openness to exploring research partnerships with AmCham Haiti, including targeted studies such as supply chain analysis and other research initiatives aimed at supporting private sector decision-makers.

The exchange also addressed transparency and data accessibility, and  the need for collaboration within established regulatory and confidentiality frameworks.

This initial engagement marks an important step toward building a stronger public–private dialogue in support of economic resilience and informed policymaking in Haiti.
