AmCham Vice President Engages in Strategic Dialogue with Transitional Government Leaders

On March 20, 2025, Clément Bélizaire, Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Haiti (AmCham), represented the organization at a high-level working session convened by H.E. Fritz A. Jean, President of the Transitional Council, alongside Council Member Mr. Laurent Saint-Cyr. The meeting brought together prominent figures from the Haitian private sector for a focused dialogue on the country’s most pressing challenges.

 

This meeting aimed to foster open and constructive engagement between the transitional government and the business community, with an emphasis on identifying collaborative paths forward in key areas affecting national stability and economic recovery.

 

The discussions centered on three critical priorities:

Security: Participants conducted a frank assessment of the current security crisis, emphasizing the urgent need for coordinated, practical solutions to restore law and order a foundational requirement for economic activity, social cohesion, and investment confidence.

 

AmCham remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote national dialogue, institutional reform, and a safer, more predictable business environment for all stakeholders in Haiti.

Public Governance: The conversation emphasized the urgent need to improve transparency and efficiency in public administration to rebuild institutional credibility and ensure a more stable governance framework.

 

Economic Climate: The group addressed the severe impact of the ongoing crisis on the private sector and discussed possible support mechanisms to help businesses navigate this difficult period.
