On March 14, 2025, AmCham Haiti was represented by Executive Director Erika Rosenthal at a high-level consultation convened by the Minister of Finance and his team at the Karibe Convention Center. The purpose of the meeting was to engage representatives of the private sector in preparation for the upcoming Donor Roundtable scheduled for April 22 in Washington, D.C.

During the session, the government presented the key elements of the RCIA (Cadre de Relance et Coordination des Interventions de l’Aide) document, which outlines Haiti’s recovery strategy. The Haitian government emphasized that it does not intend to approach international donors alone it is seeking the partnership and unified voice of the private sector to strengthen its case and strategy.

Security was a central theme of the discussion. The Minister of Public Security is expected to present a concrete plan to restore safety and stability conditions essential for private sector operations and job creation. Participants explored how to better align efforts and speak with one voice to international partners.

Government representatives stated their commitment to listening to private sector input and incorporating it into the final strategy for Washington. Key proposals included the establishment of a recapitalization fund and a guarantee fund to stimulate private investment, both of which would require clearly defined eligibility criteria.
