Assemblée Générale

Nous sommes ravis de vous informer qu’une assemblée générale de la Chambre Américaine de Commerce en Haïti s’est tenue le 25 mars 2023 de 18h à 19h30 via la plateforme Zoom. Nous avons atteint le quorum avec la participation de 46 membres présents ou représentés, sur un total de 85 membres en règle avec la trésorerie.

La séance a débuté avec l’ouverture du président du conseil d’administration, Monsieur Jean-Philippe Boisson, qui a rappelé l’ordre du jour. La Directrice Exécutive, Madame Erika Rosenthal, a également pris la parole pour souhaiter la bienvenue à tous les participants et rappeler les consignes à respecter pendant l’assemblée.

Monsieur Jean-Philippe Boisson, en sa qualité de président du conseil, a ensuite présenté son rapport pour le mandat 2021-2023. Il a abordé les événements marquants de cette période, tels que l’assassinat du Président Jovenel Moïse, l’effondrement des institutions et les défis posés par les forces destructrices connues sous le nom de “Peyi lok”. Malgré ces limitations, l’Amcham a entrepris différentes actions, notamment le soutien à la communauté à travers des collectes de sang et des campagnes de vaccination contre la Covid-19. Nous avons également contribué à la sensibilisation de la société en organisant des événements sur la conformité avec la BRH et aussi organisé un évènement avec le consulat américain. Par ailleurs, nous avons renforcé notre structure interne, établi des partenariats avec des acteurs clés du secteur privé institutionnel tels que ADIH, ATH, CCIHC et CCIO, et développé nos relations externes en organisant conjointement un événement majeur avec Haccof en février 2023.

Monsieur Boisson a conclu son rapport en exprimant sa gratitude envers les membres du conseil, la directrice exécutive, le personnel administratif, le comité électoral, Madame Mireille Mérove-Pierre, l’ambassadeur d’Haïti aux États-Unis, le chargé d’Affaires des États-Unis et leurs équipes respectives, ainsi que tous les membres de l’Amcham. En outre, nous avons eu le plaisir de rendre hommage à Monsieur René Max Auguste, membre de l’Amcham et représentant de la compagnie Valério Canez, pour sa contribution exceptionnelle à notre chambre et à notre pays.

Ensuite, Madame Déborah Stark, trésorière de la chambre, a pris la parole pour présenter les états financiers de 2021 et 2022. Elle a abordé des points importants tels que le renforcement de la structure interne, les paiements électroniques, l’implémentation du système comptable Quickbooks et la mise à jour des outils informatiques. De plus, elle a présenté le budget pour les années 2023-2024.

Après la présentation de Madame Stark, un vote pour la décharge du conseil a été organisé et a été approuvé à l’unanimité par tous les membres présents.

Maitre Jean-Baptiste Brown, président du Comité électoral, a expliqué le processus de vote en ligne pour l’élection de 6 nouveaux membres ainsi que l’ancien président, formant ainsi un nouveau conseil de 7 membres. Il a ensuite annoncé les résultats du vote. Après des questions d’intérêt général, le président du conseil, Monsieur Jean-Philippe Boisson, a clôturé la séance en informant les membres que la composition du nouveau conseil.

General assembly- April 25th 2023

We are pleased to inform you that a general assembly of the American Chamber of Commerce in Haiti was held on March 25, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. via Zoom. We achieved the quorum with the participation of 46 members present or represented, out of a total of 85 members in good standing with the treasury.

The session began with the opening remarks from the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Jean-Philippe Boisson, who outlined the agenda. The Executive Director, Mrs. Erika Rosenthal, also addressed the participants, welcoming them and reminding everyone of the guidelines to follow during the assembly.

Mr. Jean-Philippe Boisson, as the board president, then presented his report for the 2021-2023 term. He discussed the significant events of this period, such as the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse, the collapse of institutions, and the challenges posed by the destructive forces known as “Peyi Lok.” Despite these limitations, AmCham has undertaken various actions, including support to the community through blood drives and COVID-19 vaccination campaigns. We have also contributed to raising awareness in society by organizing events on compliance with the BRH and co-hosted a major event with the US Consulate. Additionally, we have strengthened our internal structure, established partnerships with key institutional private sector actors such as ADIH, ATH, CCIHC, and CCIO, and developed our external relationships by jointly organizing an event with HACCOF in February 2023.

Mr. Boisson concluded his report by expressing his gratitude to the board members, the executive director, the administrative staff, the electoral committee, Mrs. Mireille Mérove-Pierre, the Haitian Ambassador to the United States, the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States, and their respective teams, as well as all AmCham members. Furthermore, we had the pleasure of paying tribute to Mr. René Max Auguste, an AmCham member and representative of Valério Canez Company, for his outstanding contribution to our chamber and our country.

Next, Mrs. Deborah Stark, the chamber’s treasurer, took the floor to present the financial statements for 2021 and 2022. She discussed important points such as strengthening the internal structure, electronic payments, the implementation of the Quickbooks accounting system, and updating IT tools. Additionally, she presented the budget for the 2023-2024 years.

After Mrs. Stark’s presentation, a vote for the discharge of the board was organized and unanimously approved by all members present. Me Jean-Baptiste Brown, Chairman of the Electoral Committee, explained the online voting process for the election of 6 new members, as well as the former president, forming a new board of 7 members. He then announced the results of the vote. After addressing general questions, the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Jean-Philippe Boisson, concluded the session by informing the members of the composition of the new board.
