Amcham Haiti – Press Release on 2013 Elections for Board Members

Port-au-Prince, March 21, 2013

The American Chamber of Commerce in Haiti (AmCham) will hold its Annual General Assembly on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at 6:00 PM at the Karibe Convention Center. The American Chamber of Commerce in Haiti (AmCham Haiti) will present its annual report and financials for 2012. Amcham Haiti will have as a special guest Jose Raul Perales, the Executive Director of the Association of American Chambers of Commerce of Latin America and the Caribbean (AACCLA). The meeting will adjourn with the election of the new Board of Directors of the Association.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Haiti (AmCham Haiti) is a Private Sector Association, which aims to facilitate the business environment, strengthen the legal system, promote strong values ​​and ethics, and promote transparency and public-private dialogue to solve the challenges affecting key sectors of the country.

In the ongoing effort to advocate modernization, the Electoral Committee announces a major new process for the election of Board Members where Electors will vote electronically. Instructions will be sent to Electors on how to vote online which will run from March 22 to 26, 2013 until 6:00 PM. Election results will be revealed to members at the end of the General Assembly and to the press.
