Amcham Haiti participated at the 3rd annual HRA Conference – Haiti Investment and Business Expo.
There were several hundred attendees from the Washington DC area, but some did travel from the Northeast, Southeast to network and discover opportunities in Haiti.
The organizer of he event Firmin Backer feels that such events are important to entice the Haitian Diaspora to meet and to learn about opportunities in Haiti. There were over 25 sponsors to the event and some were from Haiti such as the CFI (Center for Investment Promotion), Brana (brewery), Sisalco (manufacturer of sisal based products), HT Beton (cement company), Panexus (construction company), Digicel (telecommunication), and BNC (state owned bank).
Amcham;s Executive Director made 2 presentations (Business Procedures in Haiti, Investment Opportunities in Haiti) during the conference and gave the reality on the ground and explained how to met partners locally, and invest while controlling the risk.
